Product Change Notification: Transition to Wired Microphones
Effective April 1st, 2019
Shoemaker Jukebox Rentals completed the transition from wireless to wired microphones for rental equipment. Our goal was to create a more reliable product with an even greater quality sound.
Why This Change?
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) conducted auctions of licenses for electromagnetic spectrum to facilitate the emergence of 5G wireless cell phone service by companies such as Verizon Wireless, AT&T, T-Mobile, and others. A large portion of the radio frequency spectrum that had historically been used for wireless microphone systems was sold off. Due to these changes, many wireless microphone systems became illegal to operate, and the limited frequencies that remained became crowded and unreliable.
Enhanced User Experience
By transitioning to a wired microphone system as opposed to wireless, our users now enjoy an enhanced user experience which provides a high quality, highly reliable solution now and into the future.

Wireless Systems Still Available
We make available a limited number of wireless systems at an additional charge. The additional charge helps us ensure that we comply with federal law, and covers the additional cost of acquiring and managing this equipment.
